THE HOTEL: A 307-room property situated a minute's walk from Tower Hill tube station, with spectacular views over the Tower of London and the River Thames. Rooms range from superior and luxury, to suites and a penthouse, plus 'female friendly' rooms with additional amenities for female guests.
THE CHECK-IN: The check-in desk was busy on arrival but as soon as the staff realised a queue was forming further members of staff were quickly deployed. The check-in process was then quickly expedited and we were soon upstairs in our room.
THE ROOM: The room was on the ninth floor and had superb views over the River Thames. There were two double beds, a sofa and coffee table, flat screen TV, Bose CD player, work station and ample storage space. Additional amenities included an iron and ironing board and tea and coffee-making facilities.
THE FACILITIES: The hotel has four restaurants offering a choice of either French, Japanese, international or Mediterranean cuisine. There’s also a well-equipped health and fitness club with a 25 metre pool, sauna, steam room and gym. A spa offers a range of treatments and, for those who can’t stay away from it, there’s even a golf simulator.
THE BUSINESS: A dedicated conference and events centre features an auditorium, eight training rooms, seven syndicate suites, two further meeting rooms and four executive dining suites, all of which come with state- of-the-art AV equipment. There's an onsite business centre and wifi throughout.
THE VERDICT: The location of the hotel with its stunning views over the Tower of London and its proximity to Tower Hill Station makes it a great place to stay. The rooms were well equipped and the choice of restaurants made deciding where to eat one of a few difficult decisions to be made. Staff throughout the hotel were friendly and attentive.
