THE HOTEL: Situated on a 440 acre Surrey Estate, a five minute drive from Junction 11 on the M25 and ideally situated between London’s two main airports. The 70-bedroom resort-style property can host all manner of team-building events and other functions, and has a range of room options including studios, executive studios, junior suites, suites and family rooms.
CHECK-IN: The check-in is located in the Manor House building. After registering we were quickly shown to our room where our bags were already waiting.
THE ROOM: Our room was situated on the ground floor and offered access to one of the outdoor pools on the property. It was well furnished with a large bed, desk, armchair, settee and coffee table. Also provided were a digital television, DVD player, mini bar, tea and coffee-making facilities, iron, ironing board, trouser press and safe. The bathroom with power shower was well equipped with a range of Elemis amenities.
THE BUSINESS: Complimentary wifi is available throughout the property. The nine meetings rooms are all located in the luxurious country house and can accommodate between four and 100 people. All rooms have modern audio visual equipment. The Clubhouse also acts as a functions venue for up to 180 people.
THE FACILITIES: Where to begin? There's two championship golf courses, a nine-hole par 3 course, 11 tennis courts, a health spa with state-of-the-art gym, four swimming pools, four squash courts, a nursery and youth club, three restaurants and a hair studio. The main restaurant is The Manor which offers buffet lunches and three-course dinners. BAR XIX, situated in The Clubhouse, offers brassiere-style dining with a range of light dishes and choices from the grill. Try the Summerhouse for light bites.
THE VERDICT: A beautiful location and the hotel comes close to a rural American-style resort property. Suitable for those in search of a touch of luxury within easy reach of Heathrow or Gatwick airports, plus it makes for a good beyond-the-M25 (just!) venue for team-building, meetings and other company events.
