Business travel agents and their suppliers went head to head in an exciting Dragon Boat Racing charity event in Windsor last weekend.
Held at The Oakley Court Hotel and hosted by The Business Travel Magazine and the Institute of Travel & Meetings, the event saw 21 teams from across the business travel sector battle it out for glory during a Family Fun Day.
Teams included airlines, hotels, train operators, serviced accommodation providers, TMCs and business travel associations, and the coveted trophy was won by The Business Travel & Meetings Show Team who pipped SACO by a few 100ths of a second in the final.
More than 500 people, including over 200 children, enjoyed the racing and various landside activities that had been arranged, from face-painting to parents’ races. The event raised £905 for two charities supported by TBTM and the ITM, partly through a raffle with a top prize of return tickets to New York courtesy of Continental Airlines.
TBTM publisher David Clare said: “This was a great day out for all concerned and an excellent opportunity for colleagues and rivals within the business travel industry to turn their competitive spirit towards raising money for some great causes.”
